2003 Ford Focus, Is the radio supposed to come on with no key in the ignition?

I have a 2003 Ford Focus SE. A couple months after I bought the car (about 1 1/2 years ago) I noticed that I was able to turn the radio on with no keys in the ignition. I tried my Moms car (a Saturn Vue) and you have to have the key in the ignition, and turned to accessory before you can turn the radio on. Same in my Dads truck (a Chevy 2500). My Dad looked through a wiring diagram for the radio and didn't see anything wrong with the wiring of my radio, so he seems to think it might be normal in a Ford Focus. I was going to ask someone with a Focus if I could just try it in their car... But I don't know anyone with one... Thanks for the help!!

Yes the radio is made to come on without the key in the ignition. If you press the power button it will come on for 1 hr and shut itself off. It's a novel convenience feature. i.e. waiting to pick you kid up from school and want to listen to the radio without running all the electrical or using a lot of gas. It's similar to some of the GM cars that when you shut the car off the radio will stay on for 20min or until a door is opened.
