Rear Right Side

I have a rattling noise in the left rear side of my 2001 dodge stratus. The garage says struts, sound right?

The garage showed me the problem. It's in the truck on the left side. When you pull down the cover over the wheel, on top of there is a part that is completly pulled through and the other side is not. They said this is the strut but everyone tells me that the strut in my vehicle should be in front. Is that true?

I have an '01 Sebring. The rattle I had was due to the foam rubber dampner between the coil spring and it's seat (the metal disc that the spring sits on). I used a caulk gun and filled the space in there with silicone caulk. Stopped the rattle.
